Action Team Committees

The PTCC has six action teams, each with several committees. Several committees have open positions, as indicated in the Members column of the following tables. To volunteer, email the action team chair.      

Curriculum and Instruction Action Team

Chairs: Emily Ceo and Jasmine Parker

The Curriculum and Instruction Action Team has the following committees.

Cultural Arts and Education Coordinates special programs (enriching and character building) with teachers and staff to be presented to students. Kimberly Kirkland - co-chair

Building Foundations Assists with drug awareness, peer proofing, and character education programs that are presented during health classes. Rosalyn Nicpon - chair

Registration Day Coordinates volunteers for back-to-school registration day for PCMS. Coordinates school spiritwear school store and registration process with principal.  Jenny Troha - co-chair

Facilities and Equipment Action Team

The Facilities and Equipment Action Team has the following committees. 


Committee Description Members
Campus Beautification and Maintenance Primary concentration is the PCMS campus grounds and front entrance. Alvin Edwards
Living Classroom Coordinate volunteers for watering and workday events, marketing events, developing sponsor relationships and encouraging donations for the Living Classroom, help develop and manage the Living Classroom growth and maintenance. Jennifer Petritz
Display Case Responsible for updating display cases and coordinating with teachers and parents. open - email Kim or Jerry if interested
Front Office Volunteers Recruit and schedule volunteers to work the front office. Volunteers assist the school secretary, answer phones, greet and direct visitors, assist students and parents, distribute mail and help with miscellaneous office jobs. Allison Kuller
Recycling Coordinates all school related recycling efforts, in conjunction with DCSS programs. Meredith Fendler
School Tours Conducts school tours and coordinates guides. Maintains the schedule for parent tours of the school. Delina Malinoff

Family and Community Relations Action Team

The Family and Community Relations Action Team has the following committees.

E-News Coordinators Organizes and produces the weekly newsletters for the PCMS community with input from the school and the PTCC Executive Council.

Hospitality Provides refreshments for school events (rising 6th grade coffees, community meetings and other special occasions as requested by the Principal. Coordinates with the school secretary. Bobbe Gillis - co-chair

Public Relations Submits information to the Dunwoody Crier (i.e. Rising 6th grade information, Drama Productions, Awards). Updates front office brochures and newsletters and uses school display cases as needed. openemail Mytheri or Damarcus if interested
Team Parent Grade Coordinators One per grade level. This person acts as a liaison between parents and teachers at that grade level. Coordinators recruit a team parent for each team, to facilitate communication from teachers to parents. Laurie Goldstein  - 6th grade

Finance Action Team

Chairs: Tami Gunter and Mr. Heptinstall

The Finance Action Team is responsible for determining and prioritizing financial needs and developing creative ways to fund and staff instructional programs and other needs. This team monitors the budget, reviews financial reports, and reviews financial requests from all action teams. It works in conjunction with the PCMS Foundation.


The Finance Action Team is made up of the following committees.

Book Fair Coordinates the Scholastic Book Fair in the fall. Coordinates with the Curriculum and Instruction Team. Katie Frame
Volunteer Membership Coordinator Manages PTCC membership, volunteer hours and donations. Compiles volunteer opportunity forms collected on Registration Day and updates them periodically throughout the year, providing committees with a listing of volunteers. Myra Bakke
Box Tops Collection of Box Tops on a quarterly basis. Prepares Box Top Mailings and coordinates prize day drawings. Kitty Ragals
Merchant Rebates / Partners in Education Educates parents on the various rebate programs, from Publix, Georgia Natural Gas, Target, etc., and tracks the financial results from these programs. Works with Partners in Education. Manages the relationships with PCMS’s corporate partners. Works with Merchant Rebate Team, Box Top and Sprit Night Committees Dawn Weterrings
Mary Simon
Spirit Wear Coordinator Works with Partners in Education team, to coordinate specific spirit nights benefiting students groups, such as Football team, Cheerleaders, Basketball teams, Band and Orchestra fundraising nights at local restaurants. Trish Cronin
School Store Sells school supplies and PCMS Spirit Wear each morning 8:15 – 8:45 AM. Once person manages the inventory for the school store and the other person does the volunteer scheduling for the school store. Lauren O'Brien - co-chair, scheduling

Spirit Wear

Manages the inventory of Peachtree Spirit Wear (T-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.) which are sold at the school store, Registration Day and other select school wide events. Spirit Wear committee works Fridays in the school store.

Coordinates entertainment, ticket sales, parent volunteers and refreshments sponsored by the school.

Coordinates fall elections for student government, fall dance, morning announcements, and project wisdom and any other event where the student government association is involved.

Golf Benefit

School Climate Action Team

No Place For Hate Organization of students, parents, and teachers working to put in place programs to encourage understanding of cultural diversity.

School Climate Each month, academic teams nominate one student for the School Climate Award. The winners are chosen because they follow school rules, including dress codes, and are respectful to adults and peers. Throughout the year, the winners receive an award certificate and a price. Teacher Staff and Bus Driver Appreciation Coordinates the welcome back breakfast for teachers and staff in August, bus driver appreciation in the fall, holiday gifts, teacher appreciation luncheon and raffle prizes in the spring.  Jennie Voynich
