How do I sign up for Parent Portal?
DeKalb County provides a service, called Infinite Campus, that lets teachers post information for parents about their child's assignments, grades and absences. Infinite Campus has two portals, a teacher portal that teachers use to enter information, and a parent portal that parents use to keep track of their child's progress.
The parent portal is private and secure. Parents can only view their own child's information in the portal.
To keep the portal secure, parents need an activation key to gain access to the portal. An activation key is a special password code needed for first time access to the parent portal application.
To Get Your Activation Key
The first time you access the Parent Portal, you need an activation key. Here's how to get one.
- Contact Mr. Chapman of the PCMS counseling office, and let him know you need an activation key for the parent portal. Mr. Chapman will prepare your key and have it ready when you come to the office.
- Come to the school front office and let them know you are there for your parent portal activation key. The person working at the front desk will show you to Mr. Chapman's office. He will ask you to show a picture ID to confirm you are who you say you are. Then he will give you your activation key.
Note: If you need your key right away, you can just go down to the office without notifying Mr. Chapman first. But if you notify him first, he'll have your key ready when you get there. If he does not know you are coming, you may need to wait while he gets your key ready.
Activate Your Parent Portal Account
Once you get home, you can activate your parent portal account. To do so, click here and follow the instructions. Once your account is activated, you can log in from any computer. We provide a convenient link on this website in the Parent Resources menu. Go to Parent Resources > Infinite Campus / Parent Portal.
