Seeking Volunteer Treasurer for the DHS PTSO

ATTENTION RISING 9th GRADE PARENTS:

The Dunwoody High School PTSO is looking for a parent volunteer to serve on the Executive Board as "Treasurer Shadow" for next school year. This is a 2-year commitment. The second year, you'll serve as the "Treasurer Lead." Together, the Treasurers set the budget (with the help of the Executive Board), monitor the budget, keep track of payments and deposits in Quickbooks, pay expenses, and deposit checks. Knowledge of Quickbooks and an accounting background are very helpful.

This is a fun and rewarding way to get involved at DHS with a time commitment of about 3 hours a week. Please email dunwoodyhsnews@gmail.com if you're interested or need more information.

NEW! Parent Team Liasons Needed

We need parents for teams 8A, 8B, and Intensive English!

Are you interested in becoming a parent liaison for your student's team? This is a new position, created to assist teachers in communicating with parents for activities and needs that go beyond typical classroom procedures.  For example, for field trips, the team liaison would help coordinate and communicate with chaperones.  This would be similar to a room parent at the elementary school level but not as in-depth.  This position will work with the team families to communicate about various needs the teachers/staff may have.  Duties may include: sending emails, organizing collections needed by the teachers for school projects/activities, helping to coordinate for field trips or events within that team.

Complete the interest form here. Thank you!

Patriot Annual Fund goal of $50,000!

Our 2024-25 Patriot Annual Fund is still going, so donate now and help us reach out goal of $50K! We are getting closer and closer to our goal. $13K away.

A donation of any amount is welcome and we hope for participation from all! Each dollar goes directly to programs and activities that enhance our students' experience and support our teachers!

With your donation, the PTSO will be able to accomplish the following:

  • Contribute to and host exciting events for our students like the all-school Patriot Games, a rising 6th grade “Summer Bridge” one-day orientation, the 8th Grade Celebration Week, and more.
  • Give each student in the school a custom "Peachtree" agenda
  • Thank our teachers and staff for all they do with a cash gift at the holidays and events such as Bus Driver Appreciation Week in the Fall, Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week in the Spring, and monthly coffee carts and pot-luck meals four times a year.
  • Provide scholarships to pay students’ dues for school clubs – sports, fine arts, and others – when financially necessary.
  • Provide each classroom teacher with a $125 stipend to purchase targeted items for use in their classrooms.

In addition, this summer, using funds raised in 2023-2024, the PTSO was able to purchase a microfiber cleaning system for the cafeteria and subsidize cleaning supplies not paid for by the county.
